For three generations since 1915, McLaren Press has provided its clients with high quality printed material at a competitive price.  It’s one of the reasons we’ve survived. It’s one of the reasons we’ve thrived.  Yet, we’ve never been a company that stands still.  Each generation has added its own innovations to the business.  Some of these innovations have been based on improved technology.  Some have been based on work practices.  Some have resulted from unexpected opportunities.  So what has the current generation provided?  We’ve provided a number of innovations but by far the most important are the changes we’ve made to our resources and processes to set ourselves up as a leader in environmentally-friendly printing practices.

For three generations we have been producing printing of unparalleled quality at competitive prices.  Now we have added a third ingredient.  We will maintain our commitment, while implementing green products, processes and procedures.

We know that many people are concerned about the environment, but are limited by budget constraints.  The good news from McLaren Press is that being green and clean does not alter the bottom line.

Another concern when green and clean in mentioned is quality.  Our clients have become accustomed to high quality product.  We will not disappoint them.  Producing environmentally-friendly products has not made any dent in our ability to maintain our exceptionally high standards.  So not only are our products green, they’re a pleasure to be seen.

McLaren Press has implemented an extensive environmental management system which ensures quality control while maintaining strict environmental practices.  Our sales team has undertaken intensive training so they can advise you how to meet your objectives while helping the environment.  You’ll be convinced when they show you samples of work that have been produced using vegetable and soya-based inks rather than conventional chemical-based inks.

We are encouraging our clients to use chlorine-free, recycled paper and board.  These stocks have reached such a high standard that detecting the difference between conventional high-grade materials and the environmentally-friendly versions is almost impossible.  The choice of products is virtually the same.

Our environmental management system has helped us to dramatically reduce chemical use, wastage and energy consumption.  We have switched to green power electricity and developed an integrated water recycle system which supplies rain water to all our machinery.  We are also recycling all paper cut-offs, and all plastics including those used in pallet and shrink wrapping.

And we are not stopping there.

One of our proudest achievements to-date has been the installation of an A1 chemical-free plate-making system.  This is a first for Australia and we are excited to be setting the environmental standard for our industry.
